Microwave Technical Engineer (TELCO)

· Link Planning & Design: Perform microwave link budget calculations, propagation analysis, fade margin assessment, and frequency planning

· Site Survey: Conduct on-site RF surveys, evaluate line-of-sight (LoS) conditions, assess antenna mounting structures, and validate environmental interference.

· Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation, alignment, and initial configuration of microwave radio equipment

· Performance Optimization: Monitor link performance (BER, throughput, latency, availability); identify and resolve capacity bottlenecks or interference issues.

· Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve microwave link failures, including RF degradation, hardware faults, and environmental obstructions.

· Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate link records, as-built documentation, frequency inventories, and post-installation test reports.

· Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with RAN engineers, fiber transport teams, site acquisition, and field technicians to ensure end-to-end delivery.

· Field Work: Travel to cell sites (including rooftops, towers, and remote locations) as required; comply with all health & safety

Job Qualifcations:

· Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, or related field

· 3–5 years of hands-on experience in microwave transmission engineering, preferably within a mobile network operator, tower company, or wireless infrastructure provider

· Strong understanding of microwave RF principles: link budget, EIRP, path loss, fade margin, antenna patterns, polarization, and rain fading models

· Hands-on experience with microwave radio equipment configuration & alignment

· Proficiency with microwave planning tools

· Familiarity with transport protocols: Ethernet, IP, MPLS, SDH/SONET, and microwave-specific framing

· Ability to perform VSWR testing, spectrum analysis, and RF measurements

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working in field environments

· Willingness to travel and work at heights/outdoors

· Good communication skills for cross-team coordination
