Build the Future of Cloud Platforms and DevOps Engineering

Are you passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and continuous improvement?

We're looking for DevOps Engineers to join a growing Delivery Centre capability, supporting long-term client partnerships across cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and modern software delivery. This is an opportunity to work within a collaborative engineering environment where learning, development, and technical excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

Working alongside experienced architects, engineers, consultants, and client stakeholders, you'll develop expertise in cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and modern operational practices while helping clients build, operate, and continually improve secure and scalable cloud environments.

The Role

As a DevOps Engineer within the Delivery Centre, you'll work as part of a close-knit engineering team supporting strategic client partnerships.

You'll combine technical delivery with continuous learning, helping to automate processes, improve engineering practices, and support modern cloud infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automate operational and infrastructure tasks using scripting and automation tooling.
  • Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines supporting modern software delivery practices.
  • Support the deployment and operation of cloud infrastructure within AWS environments.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Collaborate with architects, support engineers, delivery leaders and client stakeholders.
  • Contribute to platform reliability, scalability and operational excellence.
  • Deliver agreed work packages and technical tasks to defined quality standards and timelines.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues across cloud and platform environments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to team planning activities and proactively identify and escalate blockers.

Essential Experience

  • Experience automating operational tasks using one or more scripting languages.
  • Experience with source control and configuration tooling such as GitHub and Jenkins.
  • Experience developing and maintaining production software delivery pipelines using CI/CD tools.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Ability to work effectively within collaborative engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently while contributing to team objectives.
  • A structured and methodical approach to technical delivery.
  • Associate-level AWS certification.
  • Passion for learning and developing new technical skills.
  • Ability to support and mentor junior colleagues where required.
  • Active SC Clearance

Desirable Skills & Technologies

Experience with any of the following would be highly beneficial:

  • Python, Bash or other automation scripting languages.
  • Ansible or other configuration management tooling.
  • Additional cloud platforms including Azure and GCP.
  • Cloud certifications outside of AWS.
  • Production system support and operations.
  • Containerisation technologies including Docker.
  • Container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
  • Experience using AI-enabled engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or equivalent.

Consulting Environment

This position is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working in a collaborative consulting environment and can combine technical delivery with a strong learning mindset. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and client stakeholders while developing expertise across cloud infrastructure, automation, platform engineering and DevOps practices.

Security Clearance Requirements

Due to the nature of the projects and client environments, candidates must hold active SC Clearance.

Applicants should also meet the eligibility requirements associated with UK security-cleared roles, including having been resident in the UK for the previous five years and not having spent more than six consecutive months outside the UK during that period.

This role is based within the Delivery Centre, with Newcastle serving as the central hub location. Applications are welcomed from across the North-East and surrounding regions.

The position follows a hybrid working model with an expectation of approximately 60% office attendance, providing the right balance between flexibility, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Interview Process

1. Technical Interview; 2. Case Study Interview

Package & Benefits

  • Competitive salary between £32,000 and £48,000 depending on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Access to coaching and mentoring from experienced technologists.
  • Exposure to modern cloud platforms, DevOps practices and engineering delivery methodologies.
  • Opportunities to work alongside industry-leading architects and engineers.
  • Clear career development and progression pathways.
  • Participation in long-term client engagements with meaningful technical impact.
  • Collaborative, supportive and people-centric working environment.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering capability where you'll develop hands-on expertise across cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, automation and DevOps practices.

You'll work alongside experienced technologists on meaningful client engagements while benefiting from structured learning, mentoring and clear career development opportunities.

If you're passionate about cloud technologies, automation, DevOps engineering and solving complex technical challenges within a collaborative consulting environment, we'd love to hear from you
