Project Summary

Join a multidisciplinary team supporting the design and delivery of advanced nuclear and national security infrastructure projects. Engineers will contribute to the development of power systems supporting next-generation reactor technologies as well as DOE nuclear facilities operating under rigorous NQA-1 quality programs.

Responsibilities may include electrical system design, equipment specification development, power system modeling, short circuit and coordination studies, grounding design, cable and raceway engineering, procurement support, and construction turnover activities. Engineers will work across all phases of execution, from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, and startup.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

• Power System Studies : Conduct and review detailed AC/DC calculations using ETAP, including short circuit, voltage drop, arc-flash, motor starting, and relay coordination.

• Procurement & Vendor Support :

• Develop and review equipment specifications.

• Participate in bid evaluations and manage vendor Q&A tracking.

• Design Development :

• Prepare scoping documents and perform constructability reviews.

• Design and review lighting, communications, and security systems.

• Collaboration & Client Interface :

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Engage with clients and implementation personnel.

• Travel : Visit client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination.

Qualifications

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

• Experience : 7+ years in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear power plant projects.

• Technical Skills :

• Proficient in selecting equipment and materials.

• Experienced in preparing engineering design packages, calculations, and specifications.

• Skilled in designing low and medium voltage distribution systems (e.g., transformers, generators, motors, relays).

• Soft Skills :

• Strong written and verbal communication.

• Highly detail-oriented.
