What your job will be:

We are hiring a Mid-Level Back End Engineer to expand our engineering capacity. Reporting to the Tech Lead, you will join one of our Squads and work within its agile processes.

Day to day you will

• Design and build APIs in C# and .NET
• Integrate with other Wealthify services through their APIs and events
• Agree API and event contracts with the teams that own them
• Connect to external banking, payment and investment partners
• Model data and manage schema changes
• Help move older services onto modern .NET
• Review code and mentor more junior engineers
• Investigate and fix issues using our monitoring

• Event-driven microservices on modern .NET
• ASP.NET Core Web APIs, talking over REST and Azure Service Bus
• SQL Server with Entity Framework Core
• Docker containers on Azure Kubernetes Service
• CI/CD through Azure DevOps
• An older .NET Framework platform (WCF, ASP.NET MVC) we are modernising
• A regulated industry, so security, testing and monitoring come first

Required Skills

• C# and modern .NET (ASP.NET Core)
• RESTful API design
• SQL Server and Entity Framework Core
• Microsoft Azure (Service Bus, Key Vault, Cosmos DB)
• Unit and integration testing
• Git-based collaboration and code review
• Pragmatic problem-solving and knowing when to escalate

Nice to Have

• Event-driven systems and messaging
• API security (OAuth 2.0, JWT)
• .NET Framework (WCF, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework 6)
• Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
• CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
• CQRS, MediatR and Clean Architecture
• Third-party financial API integrations
• FinTech or other regulated industry experience

Valuable across the stack

Not required, but useful for contributing across the stack.
