Mid-Level Backend Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems. The ideal candidate has solid experience building APIs, working with databases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Build scalable and reliable server-side applications following industry best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver features.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement timely fixes.
• Develop automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Assist in system architecture discussions and technical planning.
• Monitor application health, logs, and performance metrics.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and engineering standards.
• Stay informed about emerging backend technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go, Node.js/TypeScript, or PHP).
• Experience building RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and database design.
• Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and automated testing.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Skills (Preferred but not required)

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar).
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
• Exposure to Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
