Mid-Level Backend Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space.

This role will focus on building and maintaining scalable backend services that support a rapidly growing construction technology environment. The engineer will contribute to new product capabilities, reliable API delivery, and operational excellence across services while partnering closely with internal teams and external integration partners. The work will directly support a large user base and help improve the customer experience through performance, stability, and thoughtful engineering practices.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $145,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production services at scale
• Develop new features for internal and external customers
• Debug production issues across services and multiple stack levels
• Develop integrations with external services and partners
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Release a rapidly growing API while ensuring backward compatibility
• Build services with efficient auto-scaling for varied loads
• Participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in a Backend role
• Experience with modern web application development and relational databases
• Known for writing clean, well-tested, and modular code
• Understanding of algorithms and data structures
