MID-LEVEL BACKEND ENGINEER (JAVA)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mid-Level Backend Engineer with strong Java and Spring Boot experience to support the development of the Bank's payment infrastructure and third-party financial integrations. The role will involve NIBSS NIP, payment integrations, AML and transaction monitoring, reconciliation, API development, testing, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain NIBSS NIP features including name enquiry, outward transfers, TSQ, inward credits, and reversals.
• Integrate AML screening and transaction-monitoring providers.
• Develop reconciliation jobs and tools for investigating transaction exceptions.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Support production troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building at least one payment, KYC, or financial third-party integration.
• Strong SQL and REST API skills.
• Good knowledge of unit and integration testing.
• Understanding of payment processing and financial systems.
• Exposure to AML, fraud, or KYC systems is an advantage.
• Kafka, Docker, AWS, or fintech/banking experience is an advantage.
