Academian delivers technology-driven solutions that support digital learning and transformation. We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Mid-Level Full Stack Developer(6 months contract) to build, enhance, and maintain modern, scalable web applications.

In this role, you will develop responsive front-end experiences using React 19, Next.js, and TypeScript, while building robust backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and performance optimization.

The ideal candidate combines strong full stack development skills with a focus on clean code, application performance, usability, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible user interfaces using React 19, Next.js App Router, and TypeScript.
• Build reusable UI components using Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, and shadcn/ui.
• Develop, test, and maintain production-ready backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Integrate front-end and back-end systems, including authentication, data fetching, and server-side and client-side rendering.
• Work with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, and use ORMs for efficient data access.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in an Agile development environment.
• Contribute to technical discussions, troubleshoot issues, and support junior developers when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years building full stack web applications.
• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, with hands-on experience using Next.js App Router, preferably versions 15 or 16.
• Solid experience with Tailwind CSS and component libraries such as Radix UI or shadcn/ui.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining production APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases and ORM frameworks.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative code review workflows.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized application development.
• Experience with NoSQL databases or caching technologies such as MongoDB and Redis.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Pytest.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Experience working with remote, cross-functional, and geographically distributed engineering teams.

Work Environment

• Fully remote position with collaboration across distributed teams.
• Participation in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies as required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
