Truey helps people turn goals into action through tasks, scheduling, reusable methods, and an AI assistant.

We're looking for an engineer who can build across frontend and backend, use AI effectively, and take well-defined features through to release.

What you'll do:

• Build interfaces, APIs, and database changes.

• Work with product and design to clarify requirements.

• Fix bugs at their root cause, write tests, and verify user flows.

• Review code and follow existing architecture.

• Own your work through release and follow-up fixes.

What you bring:

• Experience shipping production web applications.

• Strong React and TypeScript skills.

• Practical Python backend experience.

• Understanding of databases, authentication, state management, and caching.

• Clear communication and the ability to work independently.

Effective AI use:

• Use AI tools to understand code, implement changes, write tests, and investigate bugs.

• Provide clear requirements, relevant context, and existing code patterns.

• Review generated code and verify behavior before shipping.

• Recognize when AI is making incorrect assumptions and investigate directly.

• Understand and take responsibility for the code you deliver.

Our stack:

• Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix/Shadcn UI, Zustand, GraphQL, and Relay.

• Backend: Python, FastAPI, Strawberry GraphQL, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Redis, and ARQ.

• Testing: Vitest, Testing Library, Playwright, and pytest.

• AI: OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph, and MCP.

You don't need experience with every tool.
