Mid-Level Java Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Java Developer to join our growing technology team. This role is ideal for someone with 4-5 years of experience in Java development who enjoys building scalable backend services, APIs, and modern enterprise applications.

You will work closely with product owners, developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment.

Work Set-up: Remote
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM PHT (follows PH Holidays)

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring technologies.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established development standards.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of application issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering best practices.
• Work with relational databases to develop and optimize SQL queries.
• Support application deployments, monitoring, and production issue resolution.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and Agile delivery activities.
• Assist in documenting technical designs and development processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in software development.
• Strong experience in Java development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong SQL and database development experience.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Knowledge of Git version control.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Understanding of software design principles and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with unit testing and debugging applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MyBatis, Hibernate, or JPA.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Docker or containerized applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
• Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to React, Angular, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, insurance, or other enterprise environments.
