Mid-Level Litigation Attorney

Location: South Florida Area | Primarily Remote

Our Insurance Coverage and Commercial Litigation Practice is seeking a mid-level litigation attorney with 4 to 7 years of active litigation experience to join our growing Florida team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in insurance coverage and commercial litigation who is looking to take on meaningful responsibility, work directly with clients, and help develop effective litigation strategies in complex matters.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience with first-party and third-party insurance coverage matters, strong litigation skills, and the ability to manage files from inception through trial, mediation, hearing, or resolution. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a primarily remote environment while collaborating regularly with team members through Teams, Zoom, and other virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters from inception through trial, mediation, hearing, or resolution.
• Draft and respond to motions, written discovery, pretrial filings, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials throughout Florida as needed.
• Analyze commercial general liability, builder’s risk, errors and omissions, directors and officers, property, and other insurance policies under applicable law.
• Evaluate construction defect claims, identify covered damages, and review and respond to coverage position letters from insurance adjusters and counsel.
• Collaborate with clients, colleagues firm-wide and opposing counsel to advance litigation strategy and achieve client goals.
• Accurately enter time daily with detailed descriptions sufficient to support fee applications where applicable.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years of active litigation experience.
• Direct experience with first-party and third-party insurance coverage matters.
• Active Florida Bar admission in good standing.
• Exceptional research, writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Ability to analyze complex insurance coverage issues and develop practical, client-focused strategies.
• Strong work ethic, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a commitment to responsive client service.

Work Environment

Attorneys in this practice work primarily remotely and use Teams and Zoom regularly for strategy, planning, and collaboration, including with attorneys in other offices throughout the firm. Because the role may require participation in trials, mediations, and hearings, candidates must be able to travel throughout Florida as needed.
