Mid-Level Middleware Administrator

Job Summary We are looking for a Mid-Level Middleware Administrator with hands-on experience in enterprise middleware environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting middleware platforms across WebSphere, IBM MQ, Kafka/Event Streams, and OpenShift environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments.
• Manage IBM MQ, including queue managers, queues, channels, and message flow troubleshooting.
• Administer and support Kafka / IBM Event Streams environments.
• Deploy and manage middleware applications and components on Red Hat OpenShift (OCP).
• Support IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4I) environments.
• Perform middleware deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor system and middleware performance and availability.
• Handle production incidents, troubleshooting, log analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Perform WebSphere security patching, Fix Packs, and Interim Fixes (iFixes).
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates and secure middleware communication.
• Perform pre- and post-deployment/patching validation.
• Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD, containerization, and automation.
• Support middleware environments running on Linux and OpenShift.

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in Middleware Administration / Middleware Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Strong experience with IBM MQ.
• Experience with Kafka / IBM Event Streams.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes.
• Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4I) is a strong advantage.
• Good knowledge of Linux administration.
• Experience with SSL/TLS and certificate management.
• Experience in production support, incident management, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD is preferred.
• Experience in banking or other highly regulated environments is a plus.
