Mid-Level PHP Developer (Full-Stack)

We are looking for a mid-level PHP developer with full-stack experience. The role is primarily focused on backend development in PHP, with frontend work as projects require.

You'll work on different projects, which brings variety in both technology and business domains and a chance to grow fast. To succeed in this role, you'll need to quickly understand business requirements, navigate existing codebases, and reliably deliver working features.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend functionality in PHP, including APIs, business logic, integrations, and database work.
• Contribute to frontend development and maintain user interfaces as projects require.
• Contribute to different projects, with clear planning and communication around priorities and deadlines.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Work with existing codebases, including debugging, resolving production issues, and gradually improving code quality.
• Participate in code reviews and help maintain code quality.
• Collaborate with product, business, and technical team members to clarify requirements and dependencies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building production applications in PHP.
• Experience with at least one modern PHP framework (Laravel, Symfony, or similar).
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing efficient queries.
• Experience building frontend applications in Vue.js or a similar JavaScript framework.
• Experience with REST APIs and integrations with external services.
• Proficiency with Git and standard team workflows (code review, branching, CI/CD).
• Ability to navigate existing code independently and assess the impact of changes.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort switching between projects with different contexts and priorities.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical team members.

Nice To Have

• Experience with Docker, cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar), and deployment processes.
• Experience with automated testing (PHPUnit, Pest, Vitest, etc.).
• Familiarity with queue systems, caching, and performance optimization.
• Experience working with legacy systems and modernizing them incrementally.
