Mid-level Software Engineer

Kubiak LLC is hiring a mid-level software engineer to work with a senior engineer on production infrastructure, the reusable platform core, and source integrations.

Engagement. Full-time contract, ongoing. Remote from Central America or South America. No travel. Overlap with 10:00–15:00 US Eastern. About 40 hours a week.

Compensation. $30,000–$45,000 USD per year, contractor gross, invoiced monthly ($2,500–$3,750 a month). You cover your own local taxes, benefits, and equipment.

The work

You take a share of three bodies of work. The senior engineer leads the design. You implement reviewed changes and own the parts assigned to you.

• Production infrastructure. Hosting and environments, Terraform, account isolation, the PostgreSQL warehouse, Airbyte, Airflow, the dbt runtime, service deployment, CI, monitoring, and logging.
• Platform core. The configuration contract, the connector framework, multi-source orchestration, shared dbt conventions, the read-only data API and its edge contract, and identity context at the edge.
• Source integrations. Two first-wave sources, then two later sources. Each integration is secure connectivity, extraction, raw landing, orchestration, and reconciliation.

Business metric models and the GM² application have their own owners.

The repo today is a local single-tenant slice. The job is to help carry it into a production environment and a repeatable integration path.

Must-haves

• TypeScript you have shipped in production, for typed platform contracts or services.
• Python you have shipped in production, for services or orchestration.
• Production work on an ingestion or connector path: authentication, extraction, landing, failure behavior, or reconciliation.
• Production work in infrastructure as code, or a reviewed contribution to a deployed runtime.
• A production change in a platform service, an API, or CI.
• Working strength in production data infrastructure or source integration, and the ability to take reviewed work in the other.
• Professional English. The interview is in English.

Disqualifiers

• You have not shipped TypeScript and Python in production.
• You have not worked on a production ingestion path or a production environment.
• The job you want is the dashboard product or business-metric modeling as the main work.
• You need employment benefits, travel, or hours outside 10:00–15:00 US Eastern.

First six months

• Month one. A reviewed change on the local platform path: infrastructure, orchestration, or a connector.
• Day 90. One first-wave source connected through raw landing and orchestration, or the infrastructure foundation that makes that path real. The senior engineer agrees the split.
• Month six. Both first-wave sources have a repeatable extract, land, and orchestrate path on shared infrastructure, and the platform contracts those paths depend on are in place.
