Mid-Level Software Engineer at Interactive Information Systems

Interactive Information Systems builds custom software, web, and database solutions for businesses, foundations, public institutions, and government agencies. We’re hiring Mid-Level Software Engineers to learn our clients’ operations and goals, then design and deliver scalable software that solves real problems. You’ll be on a cross-functional team that owns the full development lifecycle, from concept to deployment. Most of the work is on the Microsoft stack.

What you’ll do

• Design, write, test, and deploy clean, efficient code, both on a team and on solo projects
• Turn functional requirements into technical specs and documentation
• Integrate components into complete systems and maintain quality assurance and testing plans
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems, including code written by others
• Support test and production environments, and escalate issues when needed
• Work directly with clients and gather feedback after launch

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years with C#, JavaScript, and SQL/MSSQL
• 2+ years with .NET web frameworks (ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, Identity, REST/SOAP)
• 2+ years with front-end tools (HTML5, CSS, jQuery, Razor, Bootstrap, SASS/LESS)
• 1+ year with GitHub
• Experience with test-driven development and relational databases
• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Clear communication with non-technical clients, plus a strong sense for business needs

Nice to have

• Azure (App Services, Functions, SQL, Storage, Service Bus, SignalR, VMs)
• Docker and Microsoft RDLC Reports

Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience, PTO, and a 401(k).
