Mid-Level Transmission Engineer

Job Description:

RDQ is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer with two or more years of experience for any of the following office locations:

• Denver, CO
• San Ramon, CA
• Santa Cruz, CA
• San Diego, CA
• Billings, MT
• Salt Lake City, UT

You will work with a dynamic team on transmission and distribution line design projects, including 3-D modeling, structural design, construction package development, routing studies, field investigations and more. You will help support the execution of projects on time, under budget, and with the highest quality. With clients across the country, you will be expected to know or learn relevant code across all 50 states.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating civil/structural engineering design activities for the construction of electric transmission line facilities
• Establishes and performs civil/structural engineering analyses for transmission facilities
• Helps coordinate project schedules and budgets
• Helps support the development of contracts, technical specifications, and drawing bid packages
• Maintain outstanding company-client relationships
• Provide technical assistance and training for entry level engineers
• Good interpersonal and people skills
• Good written and oral communications skills, including a strong command of the English language
• Interaction with staff, the general public, officials and contractors
• Maintain high ethical and professional standards within the overall organization
• Prepare reports and special projects, as required

Required Experience:

• MUST have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School
• 2+ years of experience in transmission utility work
• Experience in distribution design a plus
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD required
• Experience in Microsoft office is preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Fundamentals of Engineering / Engineer- in-Training (EIT) certification is required
• PE license is preferred
