Middle School Basketball Coach

School of the Holy Child is a 5-12 all-girls, Catholic, independent school in Westchester County, NY whose mission it is to develop “women of conscience and action.” Accomplished and dedicated faculty members foster the spiritual development, individual talents and interests of each student. This is realized through rigorous and comprehensive academic, arts, athletics, service and global programs.

The Holy Child Athletic Department is looking to add a Middle School Basketball Coach to our program. Proven success as a player or coach is strongly encouraged for applicants. A positive attitude and coaching approach and good sense of humor are a must. This is a coaching-only, competitively paid, part-time position.

Duties of the Middle School Basketball Coach include, but are not limited to:

• Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition; this will include plans for players grades 7-8.
• Collaborate with coaches to plan, organize and run daily practices.
• Supervise student-athletes during all team activities
• Communicate effectively with parents and students via Holy Child email account.
• The Basketball season starts December 1 and runs through February 18.
• Middle School Athletics are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Practice time is 2:15pm - 3:00pm.
• Games are held Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 3:30pm.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience coaching at any level of basketball is required.
• Past player experience preferred.
