What they need

At Peke Waihanga, we're passionate about helping people live more independent lives. As New Zealand's national provider of prosthetic, orthotic and rehabilitation services, we work alongside thousands of people every year to support mobility, participation and wellbeing.

We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Regional Manager to lead our Midland region. Based in Hamilton, this role has responsibility for services across the Midland area and plays a key part in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, customer-centred services.

About the role

As Regional Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the region, ensuring our people, services and resources are aligned to deliver outstanding outcomes for service users.

Working closely with clinical leaders and national teams, you'll create an environment where people can thrive, continuously improve service delivery, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the health and disability sectors.

This is an influential leadership role that combines operational management, people leadership, relationship management and service improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent customer and clinical outcomes.
  • Creating a positive, high-performing and values-driven culture.
  • Working with managers and clinical leaders to build workforce capability and leadership.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with ACC, Health NZ, iwi, community organisations and other key partners.
  • Monitoring service delivery, performance, budgets and resources to ensure effective and sustainable operations.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer experience and service quality.
  • Supporting organisational priorities, change initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Promoting equitable access and outcomes for all service users, including Māori and Pacific peoples.

About you

You'll be an experienced leader who enjoys developing people, building strong relationships and creating environments where teams can perform at their best.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in a health, disability, community, rehabilitation or service-based environment.
  • Strong people leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead through change and develop capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Sound operational and financial management capability.
  • A commitment to customer-centred service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes.

A clinical or health sector background would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Why join Peke Waihanga?

At Peke Waihanga, our people are at the heart of what we do. We offer:

  • Meaningful work that makes a real difference in people's lives.
  • The opportunity to lead a skilled and dedicated team.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Professional development and leadership growth opportunities.
  • A supportive and values-driven culture.
  • Competitive employment benefits, including enhanced leave provisions and contribution to health care insurance.

If you're a collaborative leader who is passionate about supporting people, improving services and contributing to better outcomes for New Zealanders, we'd love to hear from you.
