Midwest Area Manager – Electrical Testing

Location: Ohio | Midwest Territory

Compensation: $140,000–$150,000 base salary

An established national electrical services company is seeking an Area Manager to grow its electrical testing business throughout Ohio and the Midwest.

This role combines business development, project execution, and operational leadership. We’re looking for someone who understands the electrical testing industry, builds strong customer relationships, and can develop a team as the region grows.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business and expand relationships with utilities, industrial facilities, electrical contractors, and other power customers.
• Identify opportunities for electrical testing, protective relay testing, substation commissioning, and maintenance services.
• Prepare estimates and proposals, define project scopes, and coordinate staffing and scheduling.
• Oversee project execution, budgets, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop testing technicians, relay specialists, and engineers.
• Work with company leadership to build and execute a regional growth plan.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical testing, commissioning, or related power systems services.
• Background in operations management, business development, project management, or a combination of these areas.
• Working knowledge of NETA testing practices, protective relays, substations, and power distribution equipment.
• Ability to build customer relationships while managing field operations and supporting a growing team.
• Established relationships in Ohio or the Midwest are a plus.
