About the role

Horizontech Industries SDN BHD is seeking a MIG Robot Arm Teaching Technician to join our engineering team in Perai, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. As a MIG Robot Arm Teaching Technician, you will be responsible for programming, teaching, and optimising robotic welding systems to ensure efficient and high-quality production. This role is essential to maintaining our competitive edge in advanced manufacturing and robotics automation.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and programme MIG robotic welding arms using manufacturer software and control systems
• Develop and optimise robot welding paths and parameters to achieve production targets and quality standards
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting of robotic systems to identify and resolve technical issues
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of MIG robot arms and related equipment
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement process improvements and enhance productivity
• Document robot programmes, settings, and operational procedures for reference and training purposes
• Monitor robot performance and data to ensure consistent weld quality and minimise downtime
• Provide technical support and guidance to production operators on robot operation and safety protocols
• Stay updated with the latest robotic welding technologies and best practices in the industry

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in teaching and programming MIG robotic welding systems (minimum 2-3 years)
• Strong knowledge of robotic welding processes, parameters, and quality standards
• Proficiency in using robot programming software and control interfaces
• Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to robotic equipment
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant certifications in robotics or industrial automation (preferred)
• Diploma or qualification in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
