ABOUT THINK VISA
Think Visa is an established, award-winning immigration law firm based in Melbourne’s legal district. For more than 25 years, we have helped individuals, families and Australian businesses navigate Australian migration matters.
With more than 450 five-star Google reviews, an established client pipeline, a comprehensive internal case library and dedicated processing support, we provide the structure and resources for migration professionals to learn, contribute and build lasting careers.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Junior Registered Migration Agent or Junior Immigration Lawyer to join our growing team. This opportunity is suited to someone who is newly registered or admitted, or who has at least one year of relevant Australian migration experience.
You will develop practical capability across client communication, legal research, drafting, evidence review and visa application preparation. You will work with experienced migration professionals, Legal Assistants and processing staff, with clear supervision and increasing responsibility as your confidence and technical skills grow.
This is a genuine development role with an established client pipeline. You can focus on becoming an excellent migration professional without being expected to generate your own clients.
WHY JUNIOR MIGRATION PROFESSIONALS CHOOSE THINK VISA

Structured start. Clear workflows, practical training and regular feedback help you build confidence and sound professional habits.

Principal and senior mentoring. Receive direct guidance from our Principal Lawyer and experienced senior migration professionals on case strategy, drafting, judgement and career development.

Established client pipeline. Focus on learning, quality casework and client outcomes rather than being expected to build a practice from zero.

Dedicated support team. Work alongside Legal Assistants, processing staff and operational team members who support document collection, file preparation and workflow management.

Advanced AI and technology. Use structured workflows, an advanced migration case library, precedent resources and continually improving automation designed to reduce administration.

Quality-focused environment. We value accuracy, compliance and strong client outcomes—not unrealistic file volumes or rushed lodgements.

Diverse and meaningful work. Support Australian businesses across diverse industries and work with individuals and families. Every successful matter can have a lasting impact on a client’s future.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Assist with client consultations and preliminary eligibility assessments under supervision.

Prepare visa applications and supporting documents using established systems and checklists.

Draft submissions, statutory declarations, client correspondence and file notes for review.

Review evidence, identify missing or inconsistent information and follow up with clients.

Research migration law, policy and procedural requirements and communicate findings clearly.

Liaise professionally with clients, employers, skills-assessment bodies and the Department of Home Affairs.

Maintain accurate case records, monitor deadlines and progress allocated work on time.

Participate in technical discussions, training, precedent development and workflow improvement.

EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES WE VALUE

Current registration as a Registered Migration Agent or admission as an Australian legal practitioner.

Newly registered or admitted through to approximately two years of relevant Australian migration experience. Strong graduates with meaningful supervised migration exposure may also be considered.

Exposure to employer-sponsored, GSM, partner/family, student or other visa matters is helpful but not essential across every category.

Clear written communication, careful attention to detail and a professional approach to clients.

Strong organisation and a willingness to take responsibility for deadlines and assigned work.

Curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to ask questions, receive feedback and keep learning.

Comfort using case-management systems, structured workflows and technology-enabled processes.

A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in building a career in Australian migration law and practice.
