Mill Operator

Job Purpose: To operate and monitor mill and production equipment used in the manufacture of steel electrical conduit. This includes setting up and adjusting equipment, monitoring production processes, performing quality checks, maintaining accurate production information, and supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

2. Requirements:

Minimum education required: High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience: Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or industrial experience preferred

· Able to read and follow production instructions, specifications, and procedures

· Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and quality requirements

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Good communication, documentation, and time-management skills

4. Responsibilities

· Operate and monitor mill equipment to maintain efficient production

· Set up, adjust, and monitor equipment according to production requirements

· Inspect finished product and identify quality issues or production abnormalities

· Monitor machine operation and report equipment or process concerns to the supervisor

· Maintain accurate production records, measurements, and documentation

· Ensure all production work is completed thoroughly, efficiently, and safely

· Collaborate with supervisors and team members to identify and resolve production issues

· Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools in clean and orderly condition

· Use appropriate PPE and follow company procedures

· Perform other related tasks to support production operations

5. Activities

· Inspect and operate mill and related production equipment using appropriate controls and tools

· Perform equipment setup and adjustments to support production requirements

· Monitor production processes, material flow, and product dimensions

· Perform routine quality checks and communicate deviations or defects

· Follow scheduled production instructions and work orders

· Complete production reports and document quantities, measurements, and issues

· Report equipment malfunctions, process abnormalities, and quality concerns

· Ensure products meet applicable production and quality standards

· Use and maintain required safety gear and personal protective equipment

· Keep the workspace and tools organized, clean, and functional

· Support other production activities as needed

6. Skills

· Mill and industrial equipment operation

· Basic mechanical and manufacturing troubleshooting

· Ability to read production instructions and specifications

· Use of measuring instruments and hand tools

· Knowledge of production procedures and quality standards

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
