Mill Operator Trainee

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Mill Op Trainee. This position will be responsible for the roll from operations and equipment of the mill to insure continuous operation during the shift. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm - 1:30am. Overtime as required.

Qualifications: To perform this job sucessfully, an individual must meet expecations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abillities required

Education:

• High School or GED Equivalent

Experience:

• Experience:

  • Experience in using special measuring devices, calipers, tape measure.
  • Must be able to navigate, set up equipment controller for proper operation and parts programming.
  • Roll Tooling experience with set ups and change over.
  • Change out press dies, cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames
  • Good Mechanical Aptitude
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification
  • Experience with Robot programming

Other:

• Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
• Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product.
• Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.

Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.

Job Duties & Requirement ( Included but not limited to the following ):

• Safety, quality, priorities above all
• Focus on the keeping the mill operational
• Maintain clean, safe ,organized work area, 5S
• Cross Training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups
• TPM of process and equipment in the area
• Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
• Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
• Minimize scrap
• Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner.
