Milling Foreman / Asphalt Roller Operator

Earnest Contracting is seeking an experienced, Milling Foreman / Asphalt Roller Operator. This is a dual-role position and is not entry-level.

During milling operations, this employee will serve as the milling foreman, monitor the milling machine, check depth and slope, and ensure the roadway is being milled correctly. During paving operations, this employee will operate a smooth-drum asphalt roller.

Primary Duties

• • Monitor and direct milling operations.
• • Walk alongside the milling machine at a safe distance and regularly check milling depth, slope, grade, and transitions.
• • Communicate necessary adjustments to the milling-machine operator.
• • Operate a smooth-drum roller during asphalt-paving operations.
• • Follow proper rolling patterns to achieve compaction and a smooth finished surface.
• • Inspect assigned equipment and report mechanical problems.
• • Assist the milling or paving crew as needed.

Required Qualifications

• • Previous asphalt milling experience is required.
• • Previous smooth-drum asphalt roller experience is required.
• • Must understand how to check milling depth, slope, grade, and transitions.
• • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• • Must be able to work outdoors in Louisiana heat and around hot asphalt for extended periods.
• • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to communicate clearly with operators and supervisors.
• Experience operating other road-construction equipment is a plus; applicants should list any additional equipment they are qualified to operate.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
