Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Milling Machine Groundman to join our civil infrastructure team. In this vital role, you will support the operation and maintenance of milling machines used in road construction and asphalt paving projects. Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of milling machines used for asphalt removal and road resurfacing projects.
• Support paving crews by preparing the worksite, including moving materials, setting up screeds, and ensuring proper alignment of equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on construction machinery, including concrete mixers, loaders, and paving equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols related to heavy equipment operation, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and site safety standards.
• Help with concrete forming, rebar installation, concrete pumping, and other civil infrastructure tasks as needed on construction sites.
• Operate commercial trucks for transporting materials or equipment around the job site while adhering to commercial vehicle driving standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, safety checks, and equipment maintenance logs.

Experience

• Prior experience working on construction projects within civil infrastructure roles is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, asphalt paving processes, concrete work, and heavy equipment operation is essential.
• Familiarity with paving equipment operation such as screeds and concrete pumps will be advantageous.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project specifications are required.
• Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations including OSHA standards and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations is crucial.
• Experience with construction site activities such as rebar installation, concrete forming, loader operation, and working with bituminous materials will set candidates apart.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is a plus.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
