What they need

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mill/Turn Lathes Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up advanced CNC lathe and milling machines, including mill-turn lathes, to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and measurement will ensure the highest quality standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, contribute to innovative manufacturing processes, and support our commitment to excellence in metal machining.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC lathe and mill-turn machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, Fanuc controls, and CAM software to produce complex parts with precision.
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately produce components.
  • Perform machine calibration, tooling changes, and adjustments using manual tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement instruments.
  • Conduct quality inspections utilizing measurement tools like coordinate measuring machines (CMM), dial indicators, and surface gauges to verify part dimensions.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues promptly by analyzing tooling wear, machine alignment, and program errors; implement corrective actions efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, inspection reports, and production logs to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications or Willing to Train the Right Candidate

  • Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines with proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or similar for interpreting technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming for efficient toolpath generation.
  • Hands-on experience with machining tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup for metal machining applications.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T specifications for precision manufacturing.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes involving metals and plastics injection molding components.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc or similar CNC control systems; experience with CNC G-code programming is highly desirable.
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, and speeds essential for machining operations.
  • Commitment to lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.

Join our team if you’re passionate about precision machining and eager to contribute your technical expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment!
