Millwork and Casework CNC Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Millwork and Casework CNC Operator to join our fabrication team, bringing expertise and focus on CNC routing, edge banding, assembly and quality control. You will be part of the team building high-end custom cabinetry and commercial casework.

Technical Skills Required:

• CAD/CAM Software Proficiency: Ability to read, modify, or create digital designs and generate toolpaths using programs like Cabinet Vision, Fusion 360, Inventor or AutoCAD.
• CNC Programming: Understanding machine specific commands that dictate machine movements, feed rates, and spindle speeds.
• Blueprint & Technical Drawing Reading: Skill in interpreting dimensional specifications, geometric and dimensional tolerances, and schematics.
• Machine Setup & Calibration: Experience setting part origins (workpiece zero points), adjusting Z-axis touch plates/offsets, and securing materials via workholding and vacuum tables.
• Tooling & Material Knowledge: Understanding cutting tool geometry, endmill selection, and feed/speed parameters for wood, plastic, composite, or soft metal sheets.
• Basic Math & Measurement: Proficiency in algebra, geometry, and using tools like tape measures (imperial/metric), calipers, and micrometer gauges.
• Routine Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Ability to perform basic daily machine inspections, clear debris, spot mechanical errors, and resolve simple program glitches.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, finishing, or custom fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings
• Experience with wood finishing, staining, painting, or clear coating preferred
• Experience with cabinet or millwork assembly preferred
• Ability to accurately measure and work with dimensions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to safely lift and move materials and finished components
• Must have manual dexterity in hand-eye coordination for fine adjustments, loading/unloading large sheets, and inspecting finished components.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe shop environment

Experience with custom architectural millwork, high-end cabinetry, commercial casework, or furniture finishing is a strong plus.

Experience:

• CNC Router: 3 years (Required)
• Formal vocational, technical, apprenticeship, or trade training in carpentry, woodworking, cabinetmaking, or a related field (nice but not required)
• High school diploma or GED

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
