Position Overview

AFCO Millwork Products is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Millwork Packout Clerk / Team Lead to support our Packing and Shipping operation in Olive Branch, MS.

This is a hands-on position that combines computer-based order processing, product verification, shipping preparation, and day-to-day leadership of the Packout team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, using computer systems, maintaining accurate paperwork and labeling, and helping ensure employees stay organized and on task.

The Packout Clerk plays an important role in making sure customer orders are accurate, properly labeled, staged correctly, and completed on schedule before they move into the shipping process.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer and production orders accurately and efficiently for shipment.
• Use computer systems to confirm production orders and generate or apply the correct product labels.
• Verify required quality checks have been completed before products are processed.
• Confirm labeled products are staged in the correct shipping lanes and locations.
• Help coordinate the daily workload and keep employees assigned to the department on task.
• Monitor open orders and production priorities to ensure work is completed on schedule.
• Communicate potential delays, shortages, quality concerns, or other issues to supervision.
• Read and interpret job specifications and production information.
• Read a tape measure accurately to 1/32 of an inch.
• Perform and verify first-piece inspections when required.
• Operate basic production and material-handling equipment as needed.
• Organize inventory and prioritize work based on production and shipping requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow and help reinforce established company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills

We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable with computers, and capable of taking ownership of the work area.

Previous manufacturing, warehouse, packing, shipping, inventory, or team-lead experience is preferred. Candidates should have basic computer skills, be comfortable working with numbers and measurements, be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively with both employees and supervisors.

Leadership experience is a plus. The successful candidate should be comfortable helping direct a small team, maintaining accountability, and keeping work moving while meeting quality and efficiency expectations. Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is an active position in a manufacturing environment. The employee will spend much of the shift standing and working around production machinery, with regular walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and material handling. The position may require lifting and carrying materials throughout the workday.

The strongest candidate will be someone who can balance accuracy and urgency. We need someone who can work at a computer one minute, verify material or measurements the next, and then step onto the floor to help organize the team and make sure customer orders are completed correctly and on time.

Dependability, attention to detail, communication, and willingness to take ownership of the department's daily workload are critical to success in this position.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
