Minimum Qualifications

Trade tested certificate as a qualified Millwright

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years’ applicable experience as a qualified Millwright
• PLC and VSD experience will be advantageous
• Induction furnace experience will be advantageous

Key Skills and Knowledge Required

• Electrical and mechanical trouble shooting skills
• In-depth knowledge of PLC and PLC programming on Delta and Mitsubishi systems
• Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical panels and PLC’s
• Fault finding determination skills is essential
• Problem-solving ability
• Ability to read drawings
• Communication and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a team or independently
• Ability to work under pressure
• Prepared to work overtime and standby whenever required
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical panels and PLC’s
• Basic welding and boilermaking

Key Responsibilities

• Normal and preventative maintenance of Hydraulic systems (presses, formers, pultrusion and injection moulding).
• Normal and preventative maintenance of electrical systems (distribution panels, control panels, heating and cooling systems and electrical circuitry)
• Normal and preventative maintenance of mechanical equipment (gearboxes, pumps, chain drives, couplings and alignment)
• Fault finding and breakdown/emergency repairs (electrical and mechanical)
• Basic welding and Boilermaking
• Technical assistance to production and maintenance teams.
• Be part of continuous improvement
• Must be able to implement planned maintenance and counter measures
• Assistance with machine changeover and start-ups when required

Pay: R190,00 - R210,00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
