Role Purpose ,

Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Engineering department (Spreads) with the main responsibilities is to ensure that inspections and basic maintenance tasks on utilities plants and equipment. Successful candidates need to have at least 5 years' relevant experience within engineering field, FMCG environment, must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance, experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment and full adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

, Requirements ,

• N3 or trade test qualified in Millwright or Mechanical trade or Electrical trade
• At least 5 years’ experience in the FMCG production environment
• Minimum of 5 years packaging experience needed
• Experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment
• Proven PLC knowledge to facilitate fault finding
• Knowledge of Drives and specialised sensors, etc.
• Knowledge of ASI valves, 24v control Top valves
• Self-motivator with good planning and organising skills
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime if required
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Person must be able to work in a hot dusty, humid & cold wet environment.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Be able to work at heights
• Experience on following:
• Pumps - Alignment, mechanical seals, alignment, direction changing
• Basic welding
• Gearboxes
• Variable speed drives

, Duties and Responsibilities ,

• Responsible for the day to day, planned scheduled maintenance, breakdowns and shutdown maintenance.
• To ensure that an OEE of between 80% and 85% is maintained at all times.
• Complete maintenance schedules on or before required dates on the Pragma maintenance system.
• Complete preventative maintenance schedules and make use of data to improve preventative-maintenance
• Feedback on job cards and machine history to be accurate and on time
• Maintain a two-way communication with department managers and supervisors
• Provide training to machine operators in order to service machines during normal production runs
• Ensure that tools are clean and in working order
• Manage and control spares inventory and critical spares
• Adhere at all times to the quality and hygiene standards of the plant
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Do fault-finding on equipment and PLC systems
• Adhere to NOSA and ISO 45000 implementation
