What they need

About Us:

Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The company is focused on advancing the Spring Valley Gold Project in Pershing County, Nevada, and specializes in taking high potential gold assets through late-stage development and into production. Solidus applies a technically rigorous, capital-disciplined approach to mine development, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, operational safety, and community engagement.

The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. Envisioned as a long-life, low-cost open-pit, heap-leach operation, Spring Valley has a robust resource base and considerable exploration upside along a 7-mile strike length across the Black Ridge fault zone.

With a leadership team experienced in engineering, permitting, and large-scale project execution, Solidus Resources is advancing Spring Valley through feasibility, permitting, and construction, with a clear path toward operational readiness. The company’s goal is to responsibly unlock the value of U.S.-based gold assets while building a reputation for excellence in project delivery and sustainable development.

This position is located on-site at our mine in Lovelock, NV.

The Dewatering Engineer will lead the mine’s groundwater and dewatering program, including technical studies, wells, in-pit water systems and field execution. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Environmental teams and consultants to integrate dewatering activities into mine plans and meet regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Lead hydrogeological investigations, field programs and dewatering studies.
    • Translate groundwater data and mine plans into practical dewatering requirements.
    • Maintain the site dewatering strategy and address water-related risks.
  • Wells and In-Pit Water Management
    • Lead the planning, installation, operation, monitoring and abandonment of horizontal and vertical dewatering wells.
    • Coordinate drilling and dewatering activities with Operations, Engineering, contractors and consultants.
    • Establish procedures for mining and blasting near wells, including well protection, relocation and abandonment.
    • Oversee in-pit pumping, sumps and pipelines, ensuring sufficient capacity as mining advances.
    • Develop response plans for unexpected inflows, storms and pumping-system failures.
  • Modeling and Technical Coordination
    • Serve as the primary contact for groundwater and water-balance modeling consultants.
    • Provide mine plans, sequencing and pumping data; review model assumptions and results.
    • Translate modeling outputs into operational plans and coordinate updates as conditions change.
  • Procedures and Compliance
    • Develop and maintain practical dewatering policies, procedures and SOPs.
    • Establish field documentation and monitoring standards.
    • Support groundwater permitting, regulatory reporting and compliance activities.
  • Mine Planning and Operations
    • Integrate dewatering infrastructure into short-, medium- and long-term mine plans.
    • Participate in planning meetings and identify activities that may affect wells or water infrastructure.
    • Provide technical guidance to operations personnel on water management.

Qualifications:

  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil, Environmental or Geological Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of hydrogeology or mine-dewatering experience, including open-pit mining.
    • Experience coordinating contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
    • Experience developing and implementing technical procedures and SOPs.
    • Strong understanding of how dewatering interacts with drilling, blasting and mine sequencing.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with groundwater or water-balance modeling software, including MODFLOW.
    • Experience with horizontal and vertical wells and in-pit pumping systems.
    • Knowledge of pit-slope stability, groundwater impacts and water-related permitting.
    • Experience developing dewatering strategies for large-scale open-pit mines.
    • Familiarity with mine-planning software and schedules.
    • PE registration or eligibility.
  • Key Attributes
    • Hands-on technical leader who can work across studies, field activities, consultants and operations.
