Job Overview

This is a high‑end technical expert role focusing on mineral quality control and technical problem‑solving throughout bulk mineral transportation and post‑mining processes.

During long‑distance transportation, mineral quality is easily impacted by multiple physical and environmental factors, including temperature variation, packaging solutions, stacking pressure and friction‑coefficient changes, which may result in quality deviation, cargo deterioration or property alteration of mineral materials.

The expert will act as the core technical owner to analyse root causes, summarise industry insights and deliver professional, actionable technical solutions for all transportation‑related quality issues. This is a pure expert‑focused position with no people‑management responsibilities. Direct reporting to an expatriate PhD‑qualified leader requires exceptional technical‑level English proficiency for daily global technical discussions and report writing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as the subject‑matter expert for mineral transportation quality risks; analyse quality deviations triggered by transit‑related variables including temperature profile, packaging performance, friction coefficient and other transit‑induced impacts.

2. Lead technical troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis, and develop targeted mitigation solutions for mineral quality degradation across post‑mining transportation, handling and transshipment stages.

3. Document real‑world resolution case studies, summarise technical learnings, and propose optimisations to technical standards and specifications for mineral transportation and packaging.

4. Collaborate with procurement and supply‑chain teams to review technical requirements for mineral logistics, packaging and cargo handling; provide authoritative technical input for cross‑functional decision‑making.

5. Communicate complex technical findings, analysis and recommendations directly to the expatriate technical leadership in English; participate in global technical workshops and cross‑site knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications & Experience

1. Master’s degree or PhD in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Material Science or related technical discipline is highly preferred; solid academic background in mining‑relevant technical fields is mandatory.

2. Proven deep hands‑on expertise within the mining industry, specifically focused on post‑mining transportation, transshipment and material handling (not mine‑site excavation / extraction operations).

3. Solid track‑record with concrete, verifiable case histories solving real‑world mineral transportation quality challenges.

4. Candidates from technical‑focused roles within mining‑company procurement or supply‑chain technical departments are well‑considered.

5. Exceptional English proficiency (spoken & written); must be comfortable presenting complex technical content to overseas PhD‑level stakeholders on a daily basis.

6. Strong analytical thinking and independent problem‑solving capability; able to operate as an individual technical expert without direct team‑management duties.
