  • Are you looking to supplement your income?
  • Have you retired and looking for a little extra cash or some meaningful and rewarding work?
  • Are you keen on starting your career in the busing industry?

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking multiple Casual Bus Drivers to join our Supported School Transport (SST) team based at our Fyshwick Depot.

These driving roles involve Before and After School transport, giving you weekends, school holidays and summers off.

You’ll be driving modern mini‑buses equipped with advanced safety features, transporting students with additional needs and ensuring a safe, supportive journey to and from school.

What the Role Offers

  • Flexible casual positions aligned with school terms
  • Split shifts Monday to Friday, approx. 40 weeks per year
  • Weekends and school holidays off
  • Banked hours program to help you manage income throughout the year
  • Competitive pay, perks and incentives
  • Fully paid on‑the‑job training

Your Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a CDC mini‑bus in line with legislation and company policies
  • Ensure the comfort and wellbeing of the students in your care
  • Report incidents or service issues promptly
  • Work collaboratively with management to meet service expectations

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

  • A valid driver's licence - Light Rigid or higher (e.g MR, HR, HC)
  • Bus Driver Authority, or willingness to obtain one (don't worry we can help!)
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or ability to obtain
  • Current First Aid/CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain (paid by CDC)

Bus driving or heavy vehicle experience is highly regarded, but not essential.

Why Start Your Bus Driving Career With Us?

We make the recruitment process easy and will support you through the Bus Driver Authority (DA) application. For the right candidate there may also be opportunities to gain experience and upgrade your licence to MR/HR in the future. SST is the perfect entry point into a long‑term driving career with CDC.
