Minibus Driver (term-time)

Average 27.9 hours per week term-time which includes INSET plus 5 days. While this is advertised as one vacancy, we would be happy to consider a job-share arrangement and applications from candidates seeking part-time hours.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Driver (27.9 hours/week) during term-time including INSET days. There will be an additional 27.9 hours called off during the year for additional driving duties.

This role will provide the safe transport service of the pupils, using school minibuses, either to or from the school. The hours of work are details below and are based on a 4-week rota detailed below:

Week 1 and 3

• Monday 06:30 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 18:00
• Tuesday 06:00 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 17:30
• Wednesday 06:30 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 18:00
• Thursday 06:00 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 17:30
• Friday 06:00 to 09:00 and 14:30 to 17:15

Week 2 and 4

• Monday 06:30 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 18:00
• Tuesday 06:00 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 17:30
• Wednesday 06:30 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 18:00
• Thursday 06:00 to 09:00 and 15:15 to 17:30
• Friday 06:30 to 09:00 and 14:30 to 20:00

In addition, our drivers provide a transport service for pupils to and from local airports when necessary.

Your core responsibilities will be:

• Ensure the safety, welfare and safeguarding of pupils at all times while in your care.
• Provide a safe, reliable and professional school transport service.
• Drive the school minibus safely, responsibly, and courteously, adhering to all road traffic legislation and school procedures.
• Follow agreed routes and schedules, adjusting as necessary for traffic, weather and road conditions.
• Maintain accurate passenger registers for each journey, ensuring all pupils travelling are correctly recorded.
• Maintain school vehicles in a clean, safe, and presentable condition, including regular cleaning of both the interior and exterior.
• Act as a courteous, professional and responsible driver and a positive ambassador for Lomond School.

You must have a clean, current, full driving licence with D1 entitlement to drive a minibus.

You should also have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and pupils.
