About the Role
Matic Resources is seeking a relationship‑focused leader to oversee customer service operations supporting one of our key mining clients. This role acts as the central coordination point between our client, internal operations, freight partners and vendor networks. You will lead a niche customer service team, manage multiple freight channels, and maintain strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external service partners. The role requires someone confident, collaborative and able to communicate clearly in a fast-paced, time‑critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary “critical freight” coordination point between Matic and our key mining client.
• Build strong working relationships with the client’s site teams, internal operations and vendor networks.
• Lead routine service communications, manage escalations and provide clear, timely updates.
• Serve as the central gateway for freight‑related enquiries across the business.

1. Operational Coordination

• Manage all freight channels including Road Express, Air Express, Direct Car and Hotshot services.
• Coordinate time‑critical samples, including  interstate and international movements.
• Support field/exploration personnel with non-standard freight requirements.
• Monitor daily non‑delivery, futile pick‑up and urgent movement reports.

1. Supplier & Partner Management

• Maintain strong relationships with key logistics partners.
• Track partner performance and ensure service reliability.
• Challenge freight mode decisions to drive cost‑effective outcomes.
• Support continuous improvement and partner review processes.

1. Systems, Reporting & Process Management

• Oversee Bustle tasks, aged jobs and vendor portal support.
• Lead NCR monitoring, investigation and follow‑up.
• Contribute to daily operational reporting and data accuracy.

1. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a small customer service team.
• Manage workloads, support capability growth and foster a proactive culture.
• Maintain strong communication standards across all interactions.

About You

• Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in transport, mining logistics or customer service leadership.
• Ability to coordinate time‑critical freight across multiple channels.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and resilience.
• Bustle or transport management systems experience beneficial.
