Mining Environment Jr. Officer

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and document environmental parameters including air quality, water quality, soil conditions and waste management at mining sites
• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of environmental management plans and standard operating procedures
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Indonesian environmental regulations and company policies
• Collect environmental samples and data for analysis, maintaining accurate records and reports
• Support the preparation of environmental impact assessments and regulatory documentation
• Assist in identifying and implementing corrective actions for any environmental non-conformances or incidents
• Participate in environmental training programmes and communicate findings to site teams
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address environmental concerns and minimise operational impact
• Support community engagement initiatives related to environmental management and sustainability
• Maintain and update environmental databases and management systems

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline
• Knowledge of Indonesian environmental regulations, particularly those applicable to mining operations
• Understanding of environmental monitoring techniques and best practices in mining environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Indonesian and English
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis and basic environmental reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and environmental management software
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from senior environmental staff
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping and documentation
• Physical capability to conduct fieldwork in mining environments, including site visits and outdoor inspections
• Willingness to learn and develop professional expertise in environmental management within the mining sector
• Previous internship or entry-level experience in environmental management or mining operations is advantageous
• Professional certification in Environmental Management Systems (such as ISO 14001) is desirable
