Evaluation of air pollution control equipment is performed in order to determine if the equipment is capable of controlling emissions to a level that will enable the applicant to comply with all applicable air quality regulations and standards. The unit also evaluates emissions offsets; performs basic air dispersion modeling; determines applicable requirements such as PSD, NSPS, and MACT, updates emissions inventories for new and existing sources, and provides input on revisions to regulations and standards as required.
