Minor Works Supervisor

Our client is a Building Maintenance & Construction company based in Malaga and servicing Perth Metropolitan, Regional and remote Western Australia. With a reputable name based on trustworthy business, they strive to complete all jobs safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard. The clients are both in the Public and Private sectors: Government, Retail, Commercial, Aged Care, Strata, Industrial, Petroleum Industry, Education, Health and Mining.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Minor Works Supervisor to coordinate the delivery of minor works, reactive maintenance and breakdown jobs across multiple sites.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with our Project Managers, administration team, in-house trades and subcontractors, you will play a key role in ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to a high standard.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days will be the same. You will coordinate multiple jobs at different stages, manage priorities and provide practical leadership to trades and subcontractors in the field.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate and supervise a high volume of minor works, maintenance and breakdown jobs across multiple sites
• Lead and coordinate in-house trades, subcontractors and suppliers
• Allocate daily work and ensure priorities and deadlines are clearly communicated
• Inspect sites and scope new works and quotation requests
• Assist with preparing quotations, including labour, materials and subcontractor requirements
• Coordinate materials, site access, contractors and resources
• Monitor progress, costs, quality and job viability
• Liaise with clients regarding access, progress, variations and completion of works
• Ensure jobs are completed, inspected, documented and properly closed out
• Maintain accurate job records, timesheets, site documentation and system updates
• Work closely with Project Managers and administration to keep jobs programmed and on track
• Conduct and assist with pre-starts, toolbox meetings, site inspections and safety activities
• Identify site hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented
• Maintain high standards of HSEQ, quality and compliance across all works

About You

You will be a practical and organised Supervisor who is comfortable juggling multiple jobs, changing priorities and urgent requests while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service.
We are looking for someone with:

• Experience supervising minor works, reactive maintenance, building services or similar fast-paced works
• At least 3 years' relevant project, maintenance or minor works experience
• Experience coordinating trades, subcontractors and suppliers
• Strong practical building and site knowledge
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• The ability to prioritise multiple jobs and respond quickly when circumstances change
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety and site risk management
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to problems
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of budgets and cost control
• Competent Microsoft Office skills, with strong Excel skills highly regarded
• Current C-Class Driver's Licence

A trade qualification will be highly regarded but is not essential. Qualifications in Project Management, Building & Construction or a related discipline will also be viewed favourably.

Experience working within government, commercial or regulated contracts would be an advantage.
