Mitigation Technician

We are looking for dependable, hardworking Mitigation Technicians to join our growing restoration team in the Metro Atlanta area.

As a Mitigation Technician, you will respond to residential and commercial properties affected by water damage, fire and smoke damage, mold, and other property losses. You will work alongside our restoration team to stabilize properties, prevent additional damage, remove affected materials, set up equipment, and prepare homes and businesses for restoration.

This role also requires strong communication and coordination with our dispatch team, project managers, customers, and other technicians to ensure emergency calls are responded to quickly and jobs stay on schedule.

Previous restoration or mitigation experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated candidates with the right work ethic and attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to dispatched residential and commercial water, fire, mold, and property damage projects
• Maintain communication with dispatchers, project managers, and field crews throughout the workday
• Respond promptly to new job assignments and emergency service calls
• Communicate job status, arrival times, delays, equipment needs, and project updates to dispatch
• Assist with inspecting affected areas and identifying the scope of damage
• Perform water extraction and emergency property stabilization when needed
• Set up, monitor, and remove air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and other restoration equipment
• Take and document moisture readings using professional moisture meters and inspection equipment
• Perform controlled demolition and removal of affected drywall, flooring, baseboards, insulation, cabinetry, and other building materials
• Set up containment and protect unaffected areas of the property
• Assist with mold remediation, cleaning, and removal of affected materials
• Assist with fire and smoke damage cleanup, debris removal, and property stabilization
• Move and protect furniture, contents, and customer belongings as needed
• Take job-site photographs and complete accurate project documentation
• Track equipment, job progress, and work performed using company software
• Keep dispatch and management updated when additional technicians, equipment, or resources are needed
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Clean and maintain restoration equipment, tools, vehicles, and work areas
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and other customers
• Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable restoration industry standards
• Participate in emergency and after-hours restoration response as needed
• Treat every customer's home, business, and property with care and respect

Qualifications & Requirements

We're looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restoration environment.

• Restoration or mitigation experience preferred, but not required
• IICRC certifications are a plus
• Willingness to learn water, fire, and mold mitigation procedures
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, moisture meters, and restoration equipment
• Comfortable performing demolition, cleanup, equipment setup, and other physical work
• Ability to regularly lift and carry 50–75 lbs
• Able to work in damaged residential and commercial properties
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay in contact with dispatch throughout the workday
• Ability to respond quickly to changing schedules and emergency job assignments
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
• Able to accurately document work using photographs, notes, and company software
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a crew
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable traveling to dispatched job sites throughout the Metro Atlanta area
• Willing to participate in emergency and after-hours response when needed
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred

What We're Looking For

Mitigation is an emergency service business. Our technicians need to be ready to respond when customers need us.

One day may include water extraction and drying equipment; another may involve containment, demolition, mold remediation, or fire and smoke cleanup. Priorities can change quickly as new emergency calls come in.

That's why communication with dispatch and the rest of the field team is critical. Technicians are expected to stay responsive, communicate their job status, and be prepared to move to the next assignment when needed.
