Mixed-Grade Classroom Teacher

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Mixed-Grade Classroom Teacher to inspire and support a diverse group of students across various age ranges and developmental levels. Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs) and curriculum standards across multiple grade levels.
• Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, visual impairments, or other special needs.
• Utilize educational technology tools and learning software to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies to ensure continuous growth for all students.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support comprehensive student development.
• Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques tailored for students with behavioral health challenges or disabilities.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements to foster strong home-school partnerships.

Experience

• Proven classroom experience working with children across various age groups in an inclusive or special education setting.
• Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for diverse learners.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or sensory impairments such as visual or hearing impairments.
• Knowledge of special education law, IEP development process, educational compliance standards, and instructional modifications.
• Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), social skills training, and behavior management strategies for students with special needs.
• Proficiency in integrating educational technology and learning tools to support differentiated instruction.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prior experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable.
