Mixed Signal IC Design Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead our mixed-signal IC design team, focusing on the development of ultra-high-speed integrated circuit (IC) solutions, with an emphasis on Silicon Photonics. Key responsibilities encompass managing the design team, defining project execution strategies, and overseeing the circuit development, modeling, verification, and productization of high-performance analog solutions.

This role necessitates a hands-on approach to IC design, involving collaboration across different sites, and the leadership of a team of engineers to ensure the delivery of high-performance analog products. The successful candidate will also be directly engaged in design work, including schematic capture and layout. He or she will be responsible for taking products from the initial concept phase through to production.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters or Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as an Silicon Photonics designer with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role
• Proficiency in the use of advanced industry-standard EDA tools for Silicon Photonics design, layout and simulation. (Lumerical, Synopsys, COMSOL).
• Optical Data communication experience
• Understanding of fundamental PIC design concepts, including an appreciation of device models, layout and non-idealities (e.g. parasitics) affecting performance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 12+ years’ experience with high performance PIC design
• Prior experience managing a team
• A strong mixed-signal and high-speed data communications background including a firm grasp of signal integrity concepts, e.g., Signal to noise ratio, clock recovery, equalization, etc.
• Proficient with the use of lab equipment to validate high speed mixed-signal circuits and setting up lab validation procedures
