Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled, professional, and customer-focused Mixologist/Barman to prepare and serve high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of cocktail preparation, beverage presentation, bar operations, inventory management, and hygiene standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized bar, ensuring customer satisfaction, monitoring beverage stock, and following established service procedures.

Note on Location: Proximity to the workplace is an advantage. Candidates living nearby or with reliable transportation will be given consideration to ensure punctuality and ease of commute.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and other beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.

Mixology & Presentation: Create and present attractive beverages using appropriate ingredients, garnishes, and professional mixing techniques.

Customer Service: Welcome customers, take drink orders, recommend beverages, and provide friendly and professional service.

Bar Operations: Set up the bar before service, maintain an organized workspace, and complete opening and closing duties.

Inventory Management: Monitor beverage stock, check expiration dates where applicable, report low supplies, and assist with stocktaking.

Cash Handling: Process customer orders and payments accurately and follow the establishment's cash-handling procedures.

Hygiene & Safety: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, personal hygiene, and safe handling of bar equipment.

Stock Control: Minimize wastage, measure ingredients accurately, and ensure responsible use of beverage supplies.

Teamwork: Collaborate with waiters, kitchen staff, supervisors, and management to ensure smooth service delivery.

Compliance: Follow company policies, responsible alcohol-service procedures, and applicable health and safety regulations.

Customer Satisfaction: Handle customer requests and complaints professionally while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Secondary school certificate or equivalent. A diploma or qualification in hospitality management, food and beverage service, or a related field is an advantage.

Experience: Previous experience as a Mixologist, Barman, Bartender, or Bar Attendant is preferred.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, mixers, garnishes, and standard beverage preparation techniques.

Customer Service: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-relations skills.

Bar Management: Ability to maintain inventory records, monitor stock levels, and keep the bar clean and organized.

Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with cocktail shakers, jiggers, blenders, bottle openers, and other bar equipment.

Personal Qualities: Must be honest, reliable, hardworking, well-presented, attentive to detail, and able to work under pressure.

Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of POS systems, cash registers, and inventory software is an advantage.

Availability: Willingness to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Certifications (Advantage): Bartending, mixology, hospitality, food safety, or beverage-service certifications are an added advantage.
