Mobile Crane Operator

About the role

Responsible for operating mobile cranes at construction sites to lift, transfer, position, and lower construction materials, structural steel, heavy equipment, and other loads. Ensures safe and efficient crane operations in support of construction activities, particularly steel structure erection, material handling, and equipment mobilization.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mobile cranes for lifting and positioning steel beams, columns, trusses, construction materials, machinery, and other heavy loads
• Support steel structure erection and other construction activities as directed by the Project Engineer, Project In-Charge, or lifting supervisor
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of the crane, including the boom, wire ropes, hooks, hydraulic systems, tires, outriggers, brakes, and safety devices
• Verify load weights, crane capacity, lifting radius, boom configuration, ground stability, and site conditions before conducting lifting operations
• Properly position the crane and deploy outriggers in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and approved lifting procedures
• Coordinate with riggers, signalmen, steel erectors, and other construction personnel to ensure safe and accurate lifting operations
• Follow established hand signals, radio communication procedures, and approved lifting plans
• Inspect lifting accessories and report damaged or defective equipment to the immediate supervisor
• Maintain the cleanliness and serviceability of the assigned crane and ensure proper equipment shutdown and securing after operations
• Comply with company policies, construction site safety rules, and applicable occupational safety and health requirements

About you

• High school graduate or vocational course graduate
• At least 2–3 years of experience operating mobile cranes in construction projects
• Must possess the applicable operator certification, competency credentials, and licenses or authorizations required for the equipment and work assignment
• Knowledgeable in crane load charts, lifting capacity, crane stability, rigging coordination, and basic equipment inspection
• Familiar with construction site safety procedures and hazard identification
• Physically fit, responsible, safety-conscious, and willing to work at assigned project sites
• Willing to work overtime or on adjusted schedules when required by project operations
• Proficient in mobile crane operation and load handling
• Ability to understand crane load charts and lifting instructions
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
