Mobile Developer

Main Job Responsibilities

1. Mobile Application Development

• Develop, enhance, maintain and support mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
• Develop cross-platform mobile applications for Android, iOS and Huawei devices.
• Design and implement reusable, scalable and maintainable mobile application components.
• Implement new features based on business, product and functional requirements.
• Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs, backend services and third-party platforms.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise application performance, stability and reliability.
• Follow good practices in coding, testing, Git/version control, documentation and mobile application security.

2. Native Android & iOS Development

• Support native Android development using Kotlin/Java where required.
• Support native iOS development using Swift where required.
• Understand and troubleshoot platform-specific issues across Android and iOS.
• Integrate native SDKs, libraries, plugins and platform-specific capabilities with Flutter applications.
• Develop or customise native components when Flutter capabilities or third-party plugins are insufficient.
• Keep up to date with Android and iOS platform requirements, SDK changes and development practices.

3. Huawei Mobile Platform

• Develop, maintain and support applications for Huawei devices and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).
• Manage application builds and deployment to Huawei AppGallery.
• Integrate Huawei-specific services and SDKs where required.
• Troubleshoot compatibility and platform-specific issues between Google Mobile Services (GMS), Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), Android and Flutter.
• Ensure mobile applications meet the technical and security requirements of the respective application distribution platforms.

4. IoT & Smart Device Integration

• Support integration between mobile applications and IoT devices, smart devices and connected systems.
• Develop mobile interfaces for monitoring, controlling and interacting with connected devices where applicable.
• Work with backend and IoT teams to integrate device APIs, data services and communication protocols.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, device communication and mobile-to-IoT integration issues.
• Experience with IoT platforms, MQTT, Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi or smart-device integration is an advantage.

5. API & Enterprise System Integration

• Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs, ERP, CRM, payment platforms, IoT platforms and other enterprise systems.
• Implement secure authentication, authorisation and data communication.
• Work closely with backend developers to identify and resolve API and integration issues.
• Ensure mobile applications meet requirements for performance, scalability, security and reliability.

6. Mobile Application Testing & Release

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging and performance testing.
• Support QA and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Prepare and manage application builds and releases for Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production crashes, defects and performance issues.
• Support application versioning, release management and technical documentation.

7. GenCode Product Development

• Develop, enhance, maintain and support GenCode's mobile applications and digital products.
• Contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of GenBlu and other customer-facing mobile solutions.
• Support new mobile product development, system enhancements and commercialisation initiatives.
• Work with Product and UI/UX teams to deliver intuitive and user-friendly mobile experiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve mobile application features, usability and technical architecture.

8. AI-Assisted Development

• Utilise AI coding and development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or equivalent tools.
• Leverage AI for code generation, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation and optimisation.
• Adopt modern AI-assisted software engineering practices to improve development efficiency and code quality.
• Support integration of AI/LLM and Agentic AI capabilities into mobile applications where applicable.

9. Product & Project Collaboration

• Work closely with Product, UI/UX, Backend, QA, DevOps, AI, Project Management and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Translate business and functional requirements into practical mobile application solutions.
• Participate in technical design, development, testing, deployment and production support.
• Contribute ideas for product enhancement, technology improvement and development efficiency.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in mobile application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Flutter and Dart.
• Experience developing and deploying applications for Android and iOS.
• Experience with Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery deployment.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, web services and system integration.
• Good understanding of mobile application architecture, state management and application lifecycle.
• Knowledge of Android development using Kotlin/Java is an advantage.
• Knowledge of iOS development using Swift is an advantage.
• Experience with Git/version control and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience with Firebase, push notifications, analytics and mobile device services is an advantage.
• Experience with IoT or smart-device integration is an advantage.
• Knowledge of MQTT, Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi or IoT communication protocols is an advantage.
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms is an advantage.
• Experience in enterprise applications, SaaS, digital products or system integration is preferred.
• Experience with AI coding/development tools is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
