About Us

Best-One Fleet Service is a fast-growing fleet maintenance and repair company based in Gas City, Indiana, operating from our new, state-of-the-art service facility.

We service a wide range of equipment, including light-duty utility trucks, medium-duty fleet vehicles, and Class 8 heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Our mission is simple: minimize downtime and maximize reliability for the fleets that depend on us.

Through advanced diagnostics, experienced technicians, and fully equipped mobile service trucks, we provide both in-shop and on-site support throughout Central and Northern Indiana.

We take pride in being a true solution to our customers’ problems—not simply replacing parts. Our goal is to accurately diagnose concerns, deliver first-time fixes, and keep our customers’ equipment moving.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain an assigned service truck. Our technicians do not slip-seat trucks and are responsible for maintaining the professional appearance and condition of their vehicle.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical concerns involving diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, and related vehicle systems.
  • Conduct inspections and system testing on medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Work independently in mobile and on-site service environments.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service by communicating professionally with customers and providing clear repair updates.
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of all work performed.
  • Verify repairs whenever possible to help ensure a correct, first-time fix.
  • Provide the standard hand tools necessary to perform normal diesel technician duties.

We provide many major and specialty tools, including 1-inch impact wrenches, large torque wrenches, axle-nut sockets, diagnostic laptops, and other specialized equipment.

  • Advanced diagnostic ability is a major plus
  • Experience diagnosing electrical, engine-performance, and aftertreatment concerns
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, cooling, and emissions systems
  • Ability to distinguish between symptoms and root causes and develop an effective repair plan
  • Ability to weld and use an oxy-acetylene torch when needed
  • Mobile or on-site maintenance and repair experience is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding work

Experience Level

We are primarily seeking experienced A-Level diesel technicians for this position. The ideal candidate is a strong diagnostician who takes pride in solving difficult problems, performing quality repairs, and getting customers back on the road without unnecessary parts replacement or repeat visits.

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employees may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their supervisor.

If you have the experience, diagnostic ability, and pride in your work necessary to succeed in this position, we would love to speak with you about joining and helping grow our team. Please submit your resume and any relevant certifications for consideration.
