Mobile Fitter

About Us:

Shannon Rail was established over 20 years ago, initially to provide the UK rail industry with self-contained mobile site access units and road haulage facilities. Since then the company has expanded to provide a range of ancillary support solutions to the sector. We have worked with leading suppliers of welfare pods and toilet blocks to produce towable eco-friendly designs to our own bespoke specifications as well as building our own units in our workshop. We don’t think of ourselves as a labour supply company, a transport company or a training/medical provider, we see ourselves as a Railway Business.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Mobile Fitter (Plant + HGV'S + Welfare cabins) to join our team at Shannon Rail.

The ideal candidate:

Proven experience working as a plant fitter, ideally with experience also in HGVS, Vans, Cabins/pods.

Knowledge on Servicing, maintenance and repair of welfare units, plant and generators.

Bodywork experience would be beneficial

Able to demonstrate a full and varied knowledge of plant machinery as well as Fault Finding & Diagnostics

Sound and current knowledge of welfare units

Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure

Ability to work on your own initiative

Welding & general hot works experience would be beneficial

Good communication & basic IT skills are required for our mobile roles

Onsite repairs and fault finding/Attending breakdowns and servicing plant / welfare units

Required Qualifications:

City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 Maintenance and Repairs.

Low Volt DC Experience

A valid driving licence is essential.

Package/Benefits

Hours and further benefits to be discussed at Interview stage. (Rotas will consist of Days/Nights and Weekends)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
