Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mobile Fleet Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and farm machinery across multiple job sites. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operational goals and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of industrial and automotive systems, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our equipment in top condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Conduct fabrication tasks as needed to modify or repair equipment components for optimal performance.
• Utilize power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Assist with vehicle alignment, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and other essential vehicle systems maintenance.
• Support the operation of heavy machinery by ensuring all equipment meets safety standards and is properly maintained for heavy lifting tasks.

Skills

• Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or automotive technician with dealership or industrial backgrounds.
• Strong knowledge of diesel mechanics, vehicle electrical systems, HVAC systems on vehicles/equipment, and automotive diagnostics.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.
• Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical systems troubleshooting.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and other maintenance equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients about repair needs or technical issues.

Pay: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
