Mobile Lice Removal Technician – Flexible Part-Time / As-Needed

Nit Happens Lice Removal is a growing mobile lice removal service helping families throughout the South Bay with private, professional in-home head checks and lice treatments.

We’re growing our small team and looking for two warm, dependable and detail-oriented people to train as Mobile Lice Removal Technicians.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has another flexible job, freelance or gig work, school, childcare responsibilities, or another source of income and would like to earn additional money when appointments are available.

This is not a traditional part-time job with guaranteed weekly hours. Appointments are based on client demand, so some weeks may be busier than others. Many appointments come in the same day or with short notice, so flexibility is a big plus.

PAY

• $30/hour during paid hands-on training
• $35/hour once approved to work appointments independently
• Keep 100% of your client tips

Because hours are variable and not guaranteed, we offer a higher hourly rate than many traditional part-time service positions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Travel to clients’ homes throughout the South Bay
• Perform thorough professional head checks
• Apply our non-toxic lice treatment protocol
• Carefully section and comb hair to remove lice and nits
• Work closely with children and families, helping them feel calm and comfortable
• Explain simple aftercare instructions to clients
• Maintain clean and organized equipment and supplies
• Communicate professionally with clients and Nit Happens before and after appointments
• Represent Nit Happens with warmth, professionalism and discretion

NO LICE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

We provide extensive hands-on training in our treatment and professional combing process.

You will not be sent to appointments alone until you have been thoroughly trained and we are confident you can perform treatments independently to our standards.

Experience working with hair, children, families or hands-on client services is helpful but not required. Backgrounds that may be a great fit include:

• Hairstylists or salon professionals
• Nannies or childcare providers
• Teachers or school staff
• Caregivers
• Estheticians or beauty professionals
• Healthcare or wellness workers
• Other service professionals who enjoy working one-on-one with people

REQUIREMENTS

• Must live in the South Bay of Los Angeles due to the mobile and sometimes short-notice nature of appointments
• Reliable personal transportation
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
• Ability to travel to client homes throughout areas including Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Torrance, Palos Verdes, San Pedro and nearby communities
• Availability for some afternoons, evenings and weekends
• Comfortable performing detailed combing for extended periods
• Reliable cell phone and communication by text
• Willing to complete hands-on training before working independently
• Ability to pass a background check
• Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement protecting Nit Happens’ proprietary training materials, client information and business practices.

SCHEDULE

This is an as-needed, flexible part-time position.

Hours will vary based on client demand and are not guaranteed. Initially, there may be weeks with few or no appointments and other weeks when multiple appointments are available.

We’re especially interested in people whose current schedule gives them some flexibility to accept appointments when they become available.

Nit Happens provides private, non-toxic mobile lice removal for families throughout the South Bay. We make an unpleasant and stressful situation easier by coming directly to families’ homes, doing the detailed combing for them and providing calm, compassionate service.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
