Mobile Phlebotomist

Role Overview The Mobile Phlebotomist travels to long-term care facilities and offsite collection sites to perform specimen collection and processing. They "float" between facilities and patient homes, ensuring quality phlebotomy and specimen integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures following departmental procedures.
• Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
• Process specimens to maintain integrity for testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including computers and printers.
• Complete training for new or updated procedures.
• Adhere to safety, regulatory, and facility policies.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Recent phlebotomy training with at least 50 successful venipunctures (100 preferred).
• Experience in long-term care settings is advantageous.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Exposure to biohazards and chemicals, with adherence to PPE and safety policies.
• Completion of safety training and health evaluations.
• Proactive in identifying safety hazards.
