What's the opportunity? (Role)

We are seeking a Mobile Service Engineer to join the Hereworks Customer Success and Managed Services function. You will deliver field-based on-site technical support, preventative maintenance, incident response and service documentation across deployed AV and Smart Building environments.

As a front-line representative of Hereworks on client sites, you will help maintain system reliability, improve response times and protect client experience. This frees our specialist teams to focus on complex escalations and project delivery.

What will you be doing? (Responsibilities)

• Maintain, service and support AV systems, including video conferencing, audio, displays and control systems
• Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults
• Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to emergency service requests
• Support AV-over-IP and networked media systems (e.g. Dante, HDBaseT, NDI)
• Communicate clearly with clients on site and give excellent customer service
• Keep accurate service documentation and support logs, and escalate complex issues to the engineering and project teams
• Travel across Ireland/UK to client sites, with occasional overnight stays

What do you need? (Requirements)

• Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting AV and workplace technology in commercial environments
• Strong fault-finding across AV signal flow, audio, displays, VC, control systems, networking and cabling
• Experience in a structured service environment (ticket ownership, SLAs, documentation, escalation)
• Strong understanding of IP networking as it applies to AV and Smart Building systems
• Hands-on knowledge of platforms such as Crestron, Cisco, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms or similar
• Understanding of AV-over-IP technologies, including Dante, AES67, NDI, HDBaseT and Crestron NVX
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, network diagrams and rack elevations
• Confident client-facing communication and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and prioritise planned, reactive and urgent work

Qualifications & Practical Requirements

• A relevant qualification in AV, electronics, electrical, networking, IT or a related field
• CTS or manufacturer certifications are desirable
• Safe Pass certification, or willingness to obtain one
• Full clean Irish driving licence
• Flexibility to support planned works, events or urgent client requirements
• The ability to travel throughout the EU
